The University of Nottingham Tennis Story Our aim is simple, ‘to deliver the best university tennis programme in the UK.’ We have been constantly improving every year due to the hard work of all our members, coaches and comittee officers.
Frequent team training and individual sessions allow talented young players to drive their game forwards, whilst studying for a degree at a global top 70 university. We're proud to partner with the Nottingham Tennis Centre, located adjacent to our University Park Campus, to offer unrivalled training facilities for our student athletes. The venue, which boasts 34 courts total, hosts multiple major tournaments including a WTA Tour and ATP Challenger Event (Nature Valley Open) before Wimbledon.
NTU Tennis Club has 4 men's and 3 women's BUCS teams that compete in weekly team tennis fixtures on a Wednesday. In 2019-20, we recorded the highest BUCS points haul in our history, recognising the significant progress of our BUCS programme. Our Men's & Women's 1st teams compete in the Midlands 1A league; the 3rd tier of BUCS Team Tennis. The 7 BUCS teams train up to 3 mornings a week.
Sports Clubs. The University of Nottingham offers a huge range of sports clubs - over 70 in total - so there really is something for everyone! As well as offering beginner and social sessions, our clubs represent the University of Nottingham at local, national and international level.
